11.45am. Lent Lunch in St John's Church

Lent is a great time to ‘live more simply so others can simply live’- please come and enjoy a soup lunch each Wednesday lunchtime with your donations please to a different charity each week. There will also be a chance to hear about someone’s life before the soup! This is on the back of our Vicar's 20th anniversary service in October when people said they were interested in the different chapters of her life and faith journey- now it’s other people’s turns! Part of a series of talks throughout Lent.

Join us at St. Swithuns Church, Bathford on Monday 23rd. March 2026 at 2.00 p.m. for a screening of RADIOACTIVE (with subtitles) starring Rosamund Pike, and Sam Riley.

Based on a true story, from the 1870s to the modern era, a journey through Marie Curie's enduring legacies, her passionate relationships, scientific breakthroughs, and the consequences that followed, for her, and the world. After a tragic accident, Marie advances her work, and how the transformative effects and ensuing fallout of Curie's work and how this shaped the 20th Century.
